本課程針對親子關係及親子互動，探討有關理論、研究方法、其對兒童發展之影響及實際應用問題。理論內容包括人類進化論、神經科學、依附理論、社會化理論、社會生態理論及動態系統論等。實際應用問題包括親子互動與父母身心健康、兒童虐待、發展遲緩/障礙兒童、親職壓力及親職教育及介入等。

This is a graduate-level course on the theoretical, conceptual, and methodological issues of parent-child relations. The primary goal of this course is to undertake a broad perspective providing students with an overview of the current literature, with an emphasis on both empirical research and applied implications.

The course will draw from classic work and recent theories on parenting and parent-child interactions, as well as empirical evidence from genetic and neuroscience research that can help elucidate the consequences of parent-child relationships for adaptive child outcomes across multiple domains and developmental stages. The role of biology, emotional, cognitive, and culture as well as their interplays in the development of parent-child relations/interactions will be addressed. The application of information in professional work with families will also be discussed.
